With four albums released and countless concerts behind them, Asma is one of those few bands in which the sonic edges of intense, expansive rock contrast beautifully with melody.
Although the duo formed by Almudena La Torre (Emilio Manso) and Juan Aguirre (Mapa mudo, Bañaperros, El primer hombre, No) date their career back a decade, the evolution captured in their latest albums and -very especially- in «El tiempo no sabe quién eres» from 2021, consolidates them in a place of their own as authors of captivating songs.
After the initial forcefulness, Asma’s music hides a certain experimental and even abstract approach, through which the band from Santander articulates its discourse. The first impact comes from the sonic explosion, yes, but a second message reaches us from the dynamic articulation and restraint. It is a voice that transmits truth.
