Fifteen years after their last shared adventure (Rekalde, 2008), Enrike Hurtado and Tzesne join forces again in this new EP, entitled «Cartografías».

Visionaries of avant-garde music, sound art and experimental electronic music in the Iberian Peninsula; as well as references of industrial and ambient; Tzesne has published twelve studio works to date, has been involved in activism and audiovisual manipulation actions with Paralux, collaborated with bands as opposed as Gutural and guZural, he has works under the pseudonym KKOPU and even threatens to get out of everything with a new proposal, which will be called WIIZZRAD? His is an incessant stream of releases and collaborations that have seen the light of day on his own labels (SeriesNegras) and others, such as Abgurd, Drone, TIBProd, Mystery Sea or Eclectic Reactions (the latest of which is «Segmentos», Repetidor 2022). For his part, Enrike Hurtado, in addition to collaborating with Miguel A. García, Ibon RG, Thor Magnusson or the experimental filmmaker Jorge Núñez, has completed a doctorate at the University of the Basque Country on the relationship between experimental music and the ancient Basque percussive tradition of the txalaparta and has published several works under his own name, as well as under the pseudonyms Bazterrak and Azunak on labels such as Crystalmine, Eclectic Reactions, Pan y rosas, Antena Br, Larraskito and Ixi-Audio. Their latest work, «20.20», was released on Repetidor in 2023.

Now, the sonic body of the electronic work in question is a masterful example of conceptual structuralism. For the elegance and austere diction with which the duo gives form to each of the cartographies included here, does not limit any of the stimulating textures that stand out in their final minimal form. And it is there, surely, where the enormous magnetism of each one of them is condensed, whose collage is completed with captures and appropriate text that project the semantics of the artefact towards the field of the post-industrial (a language that both artists dominate to perfection). This music is enigmatic, and, like a palpitation, its pulses resonate piercingly but reverberate indefinitely… thereby exciting our lucubration. For, from the confines of interpretation, under its influence we reproduce chain associations that concatenate fiction and reality and, as if it were a hybrid orb, its sound reminds us of the unconsciousness of the dream, when altered perception blurs the limits between the tangible and the potential (the theoretical and the possible), freeing our intuition at once. Enjoy.
