Hermann Gäns is a composer, musician and sound artist with an extensive career in bands such as Antigua y barbuda or Pape, as well as an active member of the artistic collective Pr0t0c0lectiv0 from Navarre. His musical practice encompasses a complex melting pot of sensibilities, all of them immortalised in this very personal electronic project.
Gäns’ music is composed entirely in a mill on a river and is deliberately ambient. With the concepts of nature and gravity in the foreground, his pieces refer to the weight and lightness from which each song grows (and fades).
His work explores memory as if it were a space of suspense, with words and notes floating without defined form, through slowly drifting kaleidoscopic passages. Veiled by a halo of melancholy and romanticism, his compositions seem to be an attempt to rescue the presence of images from memory, to sustain them and then sink them back into the current.
