Siwomat return with a new album entitled «Mi yegua», which has been recorded, mixed and mastered entirely by the Berlin duo themselves. In this fifth studio work, the sharp and intimidating post-punk to which Pablo Paciuk (Montevideo) and Carles Navarro (Barcelona) had accustomed us in their first albums has become multifaceted, resulting in the most playful album of their career.

With repetition as a hypnotic tool, the musical abstraction that Siwomat is capable of expressing in «Mi yegua» turns their songs into powerful artefacts, whose slogans emanate an extraordinary subliminal suggestion. Listening to this album, without realising it, we enter a subjective world with its own laws, where the concept of mare refers to an instinctive, unconscious and primary feeling that takes us through space and time, while connecting us with the other. A natural, animal and complicit other, in the midst of a chaotic and violent reality.

Crossing this space-time begins with «Gente se ve extraña», a song that brings us closer to certain moments of human behaviour with humour… We depressurise. We enter and leave the trance that is «Acto de magia» and then, while we formulate the phrase «No quiero más Pepsi», bubbles start to rise around us. Then comes «Race without horses» and artificial intelligence runs through our veins… When we realise that we’ve been hanging around for a while, we open our eyes on «Merodeando» to finish side A, collating mutual support as the only help to survive in this realm of individuality and mistrust. Then side B kicks off with «Se escapa la música». Such a marvel in two complementary acts that refers to the formal malleability of any musical work in the mind of the listener and the subsequent interpretations that derive from it… When, suddenly the dreamlike experience of «Llueve en el avión» leads us to the final stretch of the album. Although «Rebotes, rebrotes» and «Una vuelta más» are songs in which we become aware of that feeling of internal fragmentation, so complex -intimate and universal- that is pain, we find emotional resources to get through it, like spring… And then, already prepared, we relax with the background of a summer night to leave the album with «Mecedora», under the maternal auspices of innocence, respect and friendship.
