Previously anticipated by «Yo quisiera saber», Salva Alambre returns with his fourth studio album, entitled «Otra nube de polvo». An intimate album in which the artist from Murcia reflects sensitively on the transience of life and on those aspects that, both simple and complex, are beyond our control. Once again recorded with Marco Velasco at El Mirador, the album is structured around two suites, each of which is divided into several tracks. Through them, we enter a world where psychedelia, sampledelia, sound design and experimental electronica go hand in hand with synth pop and art rock.
Thus, we enter the first part of the programme through «In memoriam». A solemn piece with a symphonic timbre that evolves in cycles towards a kind of monolithic rock that leads us to «El anillo de Gante». This is the first song with a specific purpose, where the lyrics pave the way for confession, between pulses of techno pop and exotic oriental influences. It is followed by the fascinating «Salamandra». Instrumental track based on an experimental intervention on certain sounds of Renaissance music, composed by manipulating samplers of instruments from that period. And so, this first part closes with «Copas rotas». A huge, explicit pop song that talks about loss and where Alambre manages to connect with the deepest emotions, weaving together a series of simply masterful melodies.
The second suite is tripartite and begins with «Orfeo». A rock journey with piano, guitars and synthesizers, whose coda unfolds a kind of catharsis that dismantles everything built up to that point… only to start again with the second instrumental piece on the album, entrusting the loved one to the goddess «Hathor». Based on the manipulation of digital strings and winds, as well as written from a minimalist perspective, this track evolves to acquire a sustained and firm dramatic charge that will lead us to the end of the journey, with «Colores nuevos» and its synth pop for redemption.
