An intimate invitation to self-suggestion which leads us to the sublime

Active for more than two decades, Miguel A. García has become a reference in experimental music and sound art, both for his work as a composer and for his trajectory in the electroacoustic improvisation scene. Both fields in which he usually works with sounds extracted from electronic devices, often interrelated with field recordings or acoustic instruments.

From Bilbao, Miguel A. García has toured extensively throughout Europe, America and Asia, performing at venues such as the Issue Project Room in New York, the Centro Nacional de las Artes in Mexico City, the Ftarri in Tokyo, the DOM Cultural Center in Moscow, the Église Saint-Merry in Paris or the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid. He has also collaborated with artists such as Jean-Luc Guionnet, Seijiro Murayama, Alfredo Costa Monteiro, Francisco Meirino, Francisco López or Ibon RG, as well as directed, organized and curated events and festivals such as Zarata Fest, the Hotsetan program at Azkuna Zentroa or the mythical and extinct Club Le Larraskito, of which he founded.

Currently focused on his own compositional work, Miguel A. García is part of Dopelganger, with accordionist Garazi Navas, and he is working on the series of pieces ‘Eraeran’, with various artists from Euskadi. Sides collaborations, his official and solo discography exceeds ten albums and represents an extensive work to dive into. García’s pieces have an enveloping morphology which belongs to his avant-garde nature -due to experimental processes that he documents and recomposes, to be interpreted again afterwards- but from them it always permeates an attractive and intimate invitation to self-suggestion during our listening, which leads us to the sublime.
